As we get close to the end, let start to open up a thread about each week. I'll rank the week 8 games in order of importance.
Dallas Cowboys at Atlanta Falcons
This division game (only one this week) is hands down the best matchup in my opinion. Both teams need this win in very separate ways. Falcons would like to remain (at worst) tied with the Steelers (since he owns the tie breaker) while Cowboys would love to inch closer to the last AFC playoff spot by knocking out the currently #3 seeded team in the AFC.
Oakland Raiders at Houston Oilers
If this was a division game it'd be the best matchup of the week. With four teams locked together at 2-5 in the NFC for the final playoff spot, these two look to make the leap and knock the other a game back.
Arizona Cardinals at St Louis Rams
The meeting of two 5-2 teams. A very solid matchup including two of the top NFC teams. Both have a three game lead on their respective playoff spot so a lose is not as dramatic as a potential vistory.
Green Bay Packers at New Orleans Saints
Packers needs this win the most of the 2-5 teams. With their below average conference record, they currently only win a tie breaker with Raider due to head-to-head.
San Diego Chargers at Pittsburgh Steelers
The Charger are one of three teams currently two games behind the final AFC playoff spot. That spot currently belongs to the Steelers. This is a big game towards establishing a playoff push for the Chargers (would give tie-breaker) while the Steelers look to control their own destiny.
Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccs despite their poor week last week are still in the NFC playoff hunt. A game against the Panther would help improve his chances against the other 2-5 teams as well as improve his conference record (which both he and Texans hold over the Packers).
Philadelphia Eagles at Oorang Indians
The Eagles are in a similar spot as the Chargers. But the Eagles face the undefeated Indians. While a win would be huge for the Eagles, a loss to the Indians doesn't help them as much as a potential Steelers lose does.
San Francisco 49ers at New York Giants
The Giants are fighting from the cellar and the 49ers have a two game advantage for the division title. Not much drama here. Though there could be huge upset fun in store. lol
