All,
It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you the newest franchise to join the TDL...
The Canton Bulldogs!
The re-location of the Chargers franchise in San Diego to Canton has brought along with it a new found optimism that this flailing franchise can re-discover it's once fine form that allows them to this day still, boast the NFL record for longest competitive games without a defeat (25).
The transition period between franchises is thought to carry over into the following days as the Bulldogs GM familiarises himself with his newly adopted team, as well as picking up "the mess" that was left behind in San Diego.
A statement from the Canton GM, Kyri Koni, reads: "I'm very excited to be here. To have the opportunity to not only compete but to participate in general is one that I will be relishing moving forward."
"What I have inherited is by no means the finished product. Based on recent history and records, there is much room for improvement, and over the coming days I will sit down with the HC and owner to see which direction we want to take this franchise this season and beyond."
"It's a long term project, no doubt about it. I'm here for the long haul and nobody can expect overnight success. Obviously the overall and ultimate goal is to win a Championship. We just have to figure out the best way to go about achieving that. You will definitely notice some changes around here. It is a big challenge, but one which I am very excited about."
"First impressions tell me that we have the foundations in place to be a successful franchise here in Canton. We already have outstanding talent here, and it's just a matter of adding to that to help us become a more polished and complete package."
Look for the Canton Bulldogs to make some serious noise in the TDL. Although Kyri Koni is based in the UK, he is expected to turn some heads as soon as his debut season.
