Good and bad, those who are performing far above your expectations, and those who are performing far below expectations
QB - Good surprise is easily Joe Flacco. I liked him, thought he was good, did NOT expect him to be anywhere near a top option. Brett Favre gets honorable mention. Underperformer is probably Trent Edwards. I'm sorry, but he has 2 extremely talented WRs and 2 extremely talented RBs. He shouldn't suck.
RB - Overperformer is easily Cedric Benson, and to me, it's not even close. Underperformer is a tie between Brandon Jacobs and Matt Forte. Wow.
WR - overperformer is probably Steve Smith, although I think it's a house of cards and he'll regress to a WR2 by the end of the season. I'd like to give a shout out to old man Hines Ward. DAYAM BRUTHAH, YOU KEEP ON WIT YO' BAD SELF!!!! Underperformer is easily Greg Jennings. This is one of the only leagues in which I didn't draft him as my WR1. Thank God. Steve Smith of Carolina gets honorable mention, but I sympathize with him because Jake Delhomme is the worst starting QB not named "Derek" or "JaMarcus"
TE - overperformer is HEATH MILLER IN DA HOUSE, YEAH STEELERS!!! Apparently he was paying attention when the Stilerz made him a top 3 TE in pay, and he's performing as a top 3 TE. Underperformer is probably going to have to be Dustin Keller. He was good the first 2 games and borderline worthless now.
DT - Marcus STroud is easily the overperformer. Yeah, he's good, but dayam! Underperformer is Haloti Ngata. *snarls* He hasn't done shit all season long.
DE - overachiever is easily Antwan Odom, although I'm somewhat tempted to go with Jared Allen simply because he's 30 points ahead of everybody else and is 23rd in overall scoring, which is insanity for a DE. No one else is even in the top 100. Elvis Dumervil is doing much better than I figured he'd do, but he's also playing as a LB and gets the "DE" benefit
LB - Brian Cushing. This guy is playing as a strongside LB, and is outdoing much more highly touted rookies James Laurinaitis and Aaron Curry, as well as Brian Orakpo. He's playing a tougher position to gather stats, and he's producing very very well. Larry Foote is also drastically outplaying what I projected him for. I guess sometimes tackle opportunity takes precedence over talent.
Underperformer has to be DeMarcus Ware. 5 games into the season, and he's ranked 52nd, barely ahead of Ricky Brown. He was sackless until the 5th game of the season as well.
CB - none really stand out as over- or under-perofrmers, although this is a position that, for fantasy, changes from year to year
S - some excelllent performances this year by Darren Sharper and Louis Delmas. Some folks were expecting Yeremiah Bell and Gibril Wilson to do well and they'd want to see Wilson and Bell labeled as underachievers, but there's only so many tackle opps to go around, and they're competing against each other.
